CHARACTERISTICS
The extra virgin olive oil with the label Denominazione di Origine Protetta (term signifying that the oil is of a certain origin and quality) is produced, transformed and packaged in a well defined and circumscribed environment.
The D.O.P. Terra d'Otranto will be constituted with over 60% of Ogliarola and “Cellina di Nardò” (century old trees) and the rest of 40% of olivage (different quality olives).
The control body is the Consortium of Guardianship of the D.O.P. Terra d'Otranto that avails of the CCIAA of Lecce.
